Author Topic: Mack rambles on about "Inception" and the concept of Lucid Dreaming  (Read 8218 times)

Actually, if you have frequent nightmares its a good thing to lucid dream. If your having a nightmare about say, a monster, you realize that nothing in d dream can hurt you. You can face your fears.

As for lucid dreaming? I've only tried the WILD technique, I also write down dreams if they seem to have a recurring theme, so then I can recognize it and go lucid.

Dreaming time chart

Layer 0 (Real Life) - Time amplification: x0 (Stays the same)
Layer 1 - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: X10 (5 Minutes IRL = 1 Hour in dream)
Layer 2 - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: x100 (5 Minutes IRL = 10 Weeks in dream)
Layer 3 - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: x1000 (5 Minutes IRL = 10 Years in dream) [REQUIRES SEDATIVE]
Limbo - - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: x10,000 (5 Minutes IRL = 100 Years in dream) [REQUIRES SEDATIVE]

Can't be, silly.  It would be:

Layer 0 (Real Life) - Time amplification: x0 (Stays the same)

Layer 1 - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: X12 (1 Minute IRL = 12 minutes in dream) 5:60 = 1:12

Layer 2 - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: x144 (1 Minute IRL = 144 minutes in dream) - if it's one minute per twelve for IRL to dream, then one minute in IRL would be 12 in the dream, for every twelve there would be another twleve, making only 2:24, right?

Layer 3 - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: x1728 (1 Minute IRL = 1728 minutes in dream, or 28.8 hours, a little over a day) [REQUIRES SEDATIVE]

Limbo - - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: x20736 (1 Minute IRL = 20736 minutes in dream, or 345 hours, or about 14.4 days) - but I recall him saying that in limbo something gets really screwed up, and instead of being the regular x20736 it's a lot more [REQUIRES SEDATIVE]

- of course, multiply each by five to compare to the quote :o

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of that.
Also, I don't mean to sound like a prick or anything, I'm just a bit brown town :3
Please don't take any offense to it :c

I can accomplish DILD and DEILD, a cold hard WILD is severely difficult for me. Probably due to my sleeping troubles... :u

Wow my last post sounded absolutely horrible lol

@Sheath

I found out that there's a certain technique, I use the "spinning" method. When I'm calmed down, and I feel as if I'm drifting into sleep I tell myself that I'm spinning. It works pretty well, I got the sensation down, saw vivid imagery and heard a rushing noise. That is before my dog woke me up. :(

And yes, to some people WILD can be terrifying, weird images, sensations, sounds can be a little scary, but hell, like everything in life keep balance. Don't get too excited and wake up, and don't get too calm and fall into sleep.

When I get to a desktop I should post some links. :D

I don't think you could have a lucid nightmare, since you control the dream.

Well, I did have a rather frightening dream once that I found out was a dream right in the middle of it. It wasn't really jump-scary nightmarish so much as it was ominous and creepy as hell, though... I didn't really think about controlling the dream so much as escaping, which I failed to do the first time and was "kicked" out of the dream before my second attempt.

One time something forced me to fall asleep i woke up but but it forced me to fall asleep any awnsers?

Limbo - - - - - - - - - Time Amplification: x10,000 (5 Minutes IRL = 100 Years in dream) [REQUIRES SEDATIVE]

But 5 minutes times 10000 is only about a month.

asdf I really want to try lucid dreaming now.

Thank you Mack :D
Now Imma practice lucid dreaming.

Oh, and I forgot.

because 5 x 10 clearly equals 60

I naturally remember my dreams but I can't lucid dream.
