Me and my two friends managed to take out plantera by bringing him to the surface
we had a little tunnel dug upwards and it just so happened a bulb spawned in a cave beside it.

we also fought him a 2nd time in a open area of the underground area and did fine.

I wonder why people call Plantera a "he".  The name sounds more feminine, and it'd kinda make sense to fight a "mother"of plants rather than a "father", wouldn't it?

Plantera is also Spanish for "Planter".

The "a" at the end makes the word feminine. Plantero is the masculine form. That would mean we're talking about a female planter. Plantera confirmed for having a vagina.

And at the same time your chances for error decrease because you're given better room.

I think they named it Plantera just to complete the Pantera reference or something.

But Plantera is Swedish for "plant" which is more ambiguous.

Tried 3 times to defeat plantera on xbox with my friend and it didn't work and we both died.

Jesus, once you get vampire knives you can just sit there and defeat the golem...

Plantera is a plant, and plants have male and female genitalia. Plantera is hermaphroditic.
