You could always make a full set of meteor armor and a space gun, then you would have a gun with unlimited ammo.

this is the best course of action
although I'm positive you won't have enough from only one meteor.

I was considering that, I suppose I could work Cthulu in in some way, since he's pretty mobile and not really hard to kill. I don't really have a choice in Plains, there's no Corruption and I already killed Skeletron.

Usually if the house is constructed and its day time, he'll come asap. Otherwise it seems to be anybodys guess, anytime within a few days.
