My god this is going to be so fun to play with other people.

Also, are there floating islands? I remember hearing that somewhere...

yes there are floating islands

Even though I'm not too fond of 2D games, especially from imitations of a 3D game into a 2D game, I really think that the most interesting aspect of this game is how the underground will basically tell a story. From things like the dungeons and the chambers with lava housing forgotten undead beasts makes it a really cool game that I'm looking forward to.

This looks so much like Clonk Rage. We seriously need to play this.

Game looks good, I'm in.

This isnt an Imitation. This game has more content than minecraft will when its out of Beta

I just took what the creator of the thread on Facepunch and agreed with it since the interface looks so damn similar.

But I have to agree with you though on content, there's so much stuff already in it and it's still in alpha.

i'm going to bomb your house.

i'm going to bomb your house.
But hey, I actually like this game.   :panda:

Reminds me more of Dwarf Fortress than Clonk or Minecraft

The underworld is for high level people only. You can't fight down there with copper armor and an iron sword.
He had nearly full gold armor, a golden bow with Demonite arrows, a Demonite Sword, and 70 potions that restored 200 health each.

I assume either one of three things:

1. Terraria was easier to code because it was in 2D, compared to Minecraft being in 3D
2. Minecraft was started after Terraria, while Terraria stayed behind the curtain.
3. Both.

And because of #1 I also think we might start seeing twice as many clones for Terraria than for Minecraft, seeing as I could near replicate Terraria with some time, excluding all the fancy animations which I may or may not be able to do.

Dwarf Fortress is a drunken midget colony simulator, this is nothing like DF. It plays very similarly but a lot more advanced than Clonk.

Kingdaro, Terraria started in January 2011. It was easier to code because it was in C++ and not java lol. the 2D is a part of it too.
