what i did for voodoo dolls is while building a platform for WoF, the more i go to the left/right of where i landed at hell, the more voodoo demons that spawned

Actually a demon scythe works pretty well. Just remember to take out the hands first and then attack his the skull.

it will only change if the area where your house is turns to corruption or hallow because when you start hardmode, the world will generate a plot of corruption and hallow that go all the way to the underworld

It doesnt matter where you build your house. The corruption will find you. Eventually.
