I entered hardmode too early and the corruption was heading to our house too fast for us to deal with so we had to leave it behind,

So, I went into hardmode on another world.
After klling the WoF, after looked fine
We left the area to break crimson altars
When I went back to hell, the place was completely broken

It's like this all the way from the top of hell to the bottom, for a good distance to the left or right

EDIT: Now hell is back to normal....

Pretty sure that happens when youre lagging or something. Ive had it happen a lot of times since the release.
