Build long sky bridge, not too high. Coat with asphalt. Run back and forth, when you reach the end you jump over him. If you do it well, you can take 0 damage, so the weapon shouldn't matter.

I havent played since the fishing update. Is he really harder than the other end game bosses?

i couldn't get him to appear because finding bait was a nightmare on my endgame character and i couldn't be assed to make a new one.

Do you have decent wings and boots?
Then keep running and shooting things at him.
Never stop, i doubt you can run too fast for him yet, but just keep running.
I beat him today with my little brother, but basically, i did most of the damage and 100% of the tanking.

With asphalt and decent boots you will run too fast and will need to slow down occasionally.

I just used my wings and some good armor.
No asphalt used, just used natural terrain.
