i didn't know either but i just forgeted around with it until i figured it out

press camera

press open map

press pin frame

left and rightclick to place the 2 corners of the frame on the cam

take snapshot or screenshot (not sure yet about the difference)

dig out a big area by the cove on the right, and put them in rows with specific types of items (weapons, armor, accessories, furniture, etc)
