Author Topic: Kerbal Space Program, Or: How I learned to stop worrying and love THRUSTERRRSSSS  (Read 349624 times)

I cannot launch a simple space probe into orbit any more. I hate the new update to SAS. I feel like I am fighting my rocket now, it slowly drifts off its heading. Ugh, this update is pissing me off.
Put 500 billion reaction wheels on your rocket.

i turned permadeath on
and the first kerbals i lost were bill jeb and bob
rip
you'll be missed :(

The manned-satellite-rocket program has begun once again!

We almost made it successful but we keep losing fuel, the first try we ran out of fuel and fell, we attempted to EVA everyone, I chose Jebediah first because of KSP's physics, we then let him go in an attempt to save him, he died, and when the rocket fell, everybody else survived.

The second try we were quite close but the manuevers forgeted up and slammed us into earth.

Apparently they can't permanently die - they eventually come back. But that's just what Scott Manley said...

More SAS units will give the ship more torque, in turn helping it keep on target.
I don't want to put several thousand SAS units.
Also, what is better: SAS reaction wheels or ASAS reaction wheels?

Crew Manifest has a permadeath option.

So... space stations?

I know that feel. OR SHOULD I SAY FUEL, BECAUSE PUNS!

If you got to earth, you're either the worst player ever, or the best player ever.

goddamnit kerbin* it's too much like earth

It's been ages since I've played this game, but I was able to do a Gemini style meet up and exchange Bill and Jeb between capsules and land them in the ocean like 20 feet apart.

I rammed Jeb into the spacecraft at like 80 m/s and he didn't flinch. Still a boss.

GUYS! I FIGURED OUT HOW TO PLAY KSP WITH TWO PEOPLE!

SOMEONE COULD BE MISSION CONTROL WHILE THE OTHER GUY IS THE PILOT

I want to make a space station. How do I go about doing this? I'm pretty terrible at docking.

get good at docking then redo it

To launch a fully capable space station over kerbin is going to take more than one launch, not to mention a station serves no purpose if you can't dock to give/receive resources to other vessels

Well, I need some way of practicing, and I find a space station good practice. I just have no idea how to start.

Launch a probe with a small docking node to orbit at ~100,000m above Kerbin, then launch a small mk1 rocket with RCS and a small docking node and do your best

tips,
set as target, and don't go TO it, try to match your orbit to the same as the stations, then slow yourself down until it comes to you

Anyone wanna help me wrap my head around roll, pitch, and yaw? I'm handicapped and just can't understand how the forget to control the ship.
