Fallout 3 is nothing like the original fallout games and why it is a sequel to fallout 2 is beyond me.

Personally, I'm still not getting New Vegas until I own the console version. Or until the GOTY edition comes out. Either way.

I got Fallout 3 on Xbox 360, loved it, found out about the mods for PC and got the PC version. Still lovin' it.

Did the same thing with Oblivion, but that's a topic for a different thread.

Also, I've never really played the original Black-Isle Fallout games (I don't like turn-based games; too slow paced), but if I hear enough reasons to try them, I will.

No it doesn't. Sure NV uses the same engine, along with many of the same weapons, models and animations, but it can be taken into an entirely different context from F3. You could skip playing F3 altogether and still get NV's story completely.

Interplay and black isle went bankrupt a while back. They made stuffty third person shooters and turn based shooters. Bethesda and obsidian are better.
