Its another way to say apparently.

Since you're a DF "veteran" why didn't you use tile sets?

Ehh I'm not veteran haha. I got used to the game without tilesets, so idk I'm not a huge fan of tilesets.

Okay, then you have yet to understand the complexity that is Dwarf Fortress.

Whatever you say. I mean I find the game funny and stuff like how dwarves only drink beer or die, or myself laughing as I owned goblin noobs, but I don't completely understand what DF truely is.

I have too. The real trick is running away while killing the faster ones.
I tried running and throwing. I almost stopped one.

If I set items to be hidden do they still fill that spot?

I hope those are bedrooms for nobles/VIPs.

What should I do when the first trade caravan arrives?
I haven't really been preparing goods to be sold.
I hope those are bedrooms for nobles/VIPs.
I had intended for those to be bedrooms for anyone.
I think I'm going to do multiple floors of those.
Why?

This is going to be my meeting hall/dining room.
I enjoy large scale environments.

Those are crazy huge rooms. It will take you forever to make, clear, furnish and smooth/engrave enough rooms for 50 dwarves of that size. I usually do 1x2/3x3 rooms.

The dining hall is good though.

Well, it started with the standard design I've been using for each floor based on this guy's videos http://www.youtube.com/user/4Deman

Then I decided to make it beautifully large. I could always break up some of the rooms into smaller rooms, if I feel the need. Maybe I'll do that and leave the end caps for nobles.

I think I will do that.
make a 2x hallway down each room and divide the sides in half.
I'd end up with two 4x4 and two 4x5 rooms in each bigger room.

Which means I should be set on rooms for a while.

The developers could've worked harder on graphics instead of making letters and symbols, guaranteed. Tilesets aren't default, those are made by the community, and they are still ugly.
This game will bring your computer to its knees even with these simple graphics. If they were to actually render it in 3D, it would do it even faster. I would also like to point out the game is an alpha, the devs are working on it right now. In the future we may get some decent visuals, but for now I'm not entirely convinced most machines today could handle the game with decent graphics.

OH HAHAHAHAHAHA

Try making 2x2 rooms next time!

Build it in soil next time. There is NO POINT digging rooms that size because you're only going to overload on resources.

Do not build it in soil. You can smooth and engrave the rooms to make them have higher value and give happy thoughts.
