Given the floods in Thailand, hard drives are currently about double price, and that is extremely cheap for a 7200RPM 500GB HDD.
Hows this one :o

That's great, but can you afford the $55 more?
My current budget is like $20 over 1k, and ill probably be buying these parts one at a time if i do end up buying them at all.

So basically ill be able to earn enough money in a few weeks to buy everything with shipping

with this set up
could I still buy this psu instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341017
and everything would be compatible?

because I kind of already bought it...

Really good choice, better than the Cooler Master.

Cooler Master PSUs have been reported to blow up without even doing anything. Like blowing up as if it were a low-quality PSU. OCZ is one of the best to me.

Not better than the cooler master.
Cooler Master have some of the best PSUs, and even though the eXtreme series aren't 80plus, they are the next best thing, and it being 700w would have been an extra bonus.
However I have informed Kira that this PSU is adequate and good.

And, FYI, the 6950 FleX editions can be unlocked to 6970s.

Should I fix up a laptop that my dad brought home and sell it it's a Pentium M @ 2.0GHZ with 1GB of DDR2 (533MHz)?
If I put 2GB of RAM in, and a 160GB HDD, I can sell it for $250, spending a total of $84.95, earning me a profit of ~$165.
Do I do it?

Is there some reason you shouldn't? lol

Well, I need my parents to AGREE to actually let me have money first, so I can buy it.
Then with the profit that would be in a bank account, I could fix more computers and etcetara until I have money to help my brother build a computer.

okay since somebody apparently gets mad anytime you don't ask in this topic
something is wrong with my sound card or something maybe
it plays sound just fine but if I plug in some headphones it acts like I didn't do stuff and just plays it through the speakers still
