lol'd as well, that is funny.
Not very reasonable for that price.
Could you find a better one, no more than $700, and it has to be pre-built he isn't buying parts.

I'm no good at shopping for pre-builts.
Is there a specific reason behind not custom building it?

No way his parents would let him buy parts, and there's not way he would. I know I can't convince him, so I am just trying to help, that was also the wrong link http://www.amazon.com/Dell-Computer-Inspiron-620-Desktop/dp/B005DPQUJC/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1354666925&sr=1-2&keywords=computer#productDetails

The major problem with buying prebuilt computers is that you can't be absolutely sure of what the parts inside are, I could check online but I'm getting offline soon.

I still wouldn't suggest a prebuilt, I would majorly try to talk to him about the benefits of custom

Custom built ones requires a good knowledge of computers.

guys i have some super duper hints for yall
1. if you want an i5-3570k for $169 you can get them for pickup at microcenter
2. if you put a z77 mobo in your cart with an intel processor at microcenter it should subtract 50$ from the mobo price as well.

Not exactly.

While it may be risky, and involve some knowledge, custom building a computer isn't extremely hard.

I wish he would too, but he won't. Besides it does require some knowledge. I could do most of it, but I wouldn't want to be responsible if I messed up.

Well if we built him one I already have this A Geforce GTX 260 isn't compatible with that, is it?

What? How can you not be sure of the parts inside a prebuilt?

Exactly a good point. I want to put an i7-3770k into a build I plan on doing in the future, or i'll wait for haswell, either way I have a microcenter 1 hour from my house but it is worth it as a 3770k on Newegg costs $319 and at the microcenter it is only $229 with no bundles or anything :D

Why an i7? There's very little structurally different (save for an extra channel) and I've never the cost justified upgrading from an i5-3570k.
