I assume this will still happen?

I forgot to ask this earlier, but what will happen if our graphics/video card doesn't support shadows/shaders? I'm worried it might make my game absolutely laggy. Will lag occur, or not?
you can turn off the shadows and shaders.

Judging by the screenshots so far, you can see that happening a little bit.

Only problem is that it will be more noticeable now.

I'm pretty sure someone mentioned that this update should lessen the effects.

Hopefully it does... This is one thing that I currently hate more than the lack of shadows.

I mean, when they're on?

Pretty castle.

To be honest, I'm not really fond of the picture because of the white lines that just stick out. Black lines are really helpful for dark builds and make bricks look smoother. And since we are getting shadows and shaders, i really think we should change to darker brick textures such as Mantys, his are my favourite.

I think there is already no lines in that update, only light make white lines appear.

I'm surprised nobody spoke up about that screenshot before Fob.  The white lines near the roof of the tower (and just the white lines in general) look much worse than they have ever before.  Squideey and I have both made textures with the primary goal of ridding white lines from builds (which greatly improves the appearance of builds in the dark).

I do understand that the white edges contribute to the "plastic look," but in some of the example screenshots you've provided they look worse than before.

The white lines are specular highlights.  I have attached a screenshot of what beta city looks like in the dark.

Lol, that's funny.

That "pic" made me realize how dirty my screen is.

The first pic looks like a night/day cycle at dawn/dusk.
