But if there's no terrain, what will the skis ski on? :(
They will ski on ramp bricks.

I guess this is gonna put a huge emphasis on building in blockland for a while.

Will things like Pearl and Chrome paint effects be effected by the shaders?

Are you worried that  people whose computers can't handle the new shaders will justifiably see this as a total downgrade for them?

Shaders are 100% optional. Just turn them off and the game runs as well as ever. Please note I covered this in the OP. In general I will delete posts asking questions from the OP. -- kompressor

I believe what he means is, if they can't use the shaders and are losing old maps that use interiors and terrain, wouldn't this update be a downgrade/removal of content (or simply a giant middle finger) to them? :panda:

This timing is amazing. Three days ago, I made a script that converts map terrain into loads of 4x Cubes (terrain -> bricks).

If we have to build the map by hand, why not have a random brick generator?
I think we have one of those.

^

Could they possibly affect bricks in an entirely different way?

Maybe bricks that have different appearances? Matte, metallic, etc.?

Gloss bricks would be cool :O

Any estimate on when that might be?
When is this update speculated to go live? If not an exact date, could you give an estimate in weeks?

No. -- kompressor
