I just bought all this heavy level-eighty exotic armor from a chain-event karma merchant, and i think I'll give it to my level 77 warrior. It took me about 120k karma though, as each piece was 42k karma.

Yeah, Have you looked at them? Ascended gear have so many stats. You also need them for protection against agony in fractals.

You can also get ascended gear with Guild Commendations.

Finally got around to getting an ascended item! Now I can hit 1,000 non crit & 2,000 crit! Health isn't great but toughness keeps the thieves at bay, It's funny when people try to attack me and go.. Oh crap.. This isn't a squishy mage :(
