Dayz in a Nutshell.
1st you spawn on a beach with a five second text where you are.
2nd everywhere structure is surrounded or has atleast zombie
3rd you start off with no weapons
4th if a zombie sees you you will end up getting chased by a zombie that runs faster than you and never gets tired
5th its impossible to find a weapon with being spotted by a zombie
6th once you have a weapon and your friends assembled you can roam the map encountering villages with structures that you can't enter
7th there is no incentive to play, the game just boils down into a deathmatch with zombies
8th you eventually die and spawn on the coast
So what makes WarZ any different? Otherwise I'm going to assume its something that is fun a day then gets boring.
1. You start in Safe Zones where you are literally safe from PVP and zombies
2. Since zombies are people too they of course only spawn near buildings so in both games they will spawn near them.
3. You start with a flashlight that can be used as a melee weapon. Weapons , especially firearms and their ammo , are rare so you wont be able to DM all the time and really have to search for them.
4. If zombies wouldn't run at you they are not dangerous at all. Therefor you must sneak around them. I'm pretty sure you will be able to outrun them though.
5. You must sneak around zombies as they can see / hear / smell you. The sneak mechanics in WarZ will most likely be far better than the ones in DayZ.
6. Unlike DayZ WarZ actually has it's own map which is 400 km² large ( a few houndred more than Chernarus) with lot's of enterable buildings. In the future even more maps will be added to the game.
7. WarZ has a much bigger survival and exploration aspect. In DayZ you can find assault rifles in Firehouses while in WarZ you really really have to search for guns and ammo which are accordingly powerful. There's lots of stuff to explore and you can even do / make player based quests. Means players can make quests for other players which adds more teamwork.
You can also make your own character which can learn skills that minorly improve survival ( like you can improve stamina a bit so you can run faster or carry more weight).
8. In WarZ you can choose between "Hardcore" and normal mode. If you die in normal mode your character only get's knocked out and becomes unplayable for real life 24 hours ( this will probally be changed ) as a punishment for death. After that period of time you will respawn where you have been killed. Of course you loose all the gear you had when you were killed. You do however keep all the skills and stuff that you have earned. Dieing in hardcore mode means that your character is dead forever. The crosshair and your ammo count of your weapon disappears in hardcore aswell.
However you get increased EXP gain and rare spawns when playing in Hardcore.
You may make up to 5 different characters so you don't have to wait 24 hours ( if you play normal mode) for your character to respawn.
