Author Topic: Xbox One Backflip - Microsoft Ditches the DRM [Confirmed]  (Read 9127 times)

Anyone else ever question why the checking in every 24 hours thing was implemented in the first place? If they can just take it away...what was it for...?
I think it was something to do with sharing games and making sure you weren't sharing them offline or something.

but it's not because like I said - more people play EA games on Xbox than PlayStation, same reason why they have a partnership now :P
that's because they've already made their money from those, and they wanted some good PR for once
I'm sorry for having opinions that a lot of people have, would you like to hop off the breathing bandwagon? Didn't think so. (bit of an extreme comparison but seriously, just because I have the views that a lot of other people have doesn't mean they're wrong)

You are still neglecting PC which is a massive market, one most likely larger than PS or Xbox. Also I thought EA was the "money mongering corporation", I don't see why they'd just get rid of online passes from existing games if they want more money. You also realize they have a new CEO? Lately things have been taking a massively positive step forward for EA.

I extremely doubt the PC market for EA games is anywhere as near as big as the EA market for Xbox games just based on the sports games alone.

Like I said - they want good PR and they knew they wouldn't lose TO much from doing this.

In some ways yes, I still feel they should be punished a bit more for screwing people over in the past before though.

Wait a minute. If people are protesting that they can't share games on the console, but are totally fine with Steam and Origin on the pc. Speaking of the pc, companies need to bring an end to the idea of porting games with consoles specs to the pc. Hell ID Software forgeted up with RAGE, and they made the first First Person Shooter Doom/castlewolftenstein which was exclusive for the PC when it first came out.

Because Steam offers many other benefits to make up for it - plus on PC you have the option to do either Steam or a physical copy so it's at least a choice.

because Steam has sales, where 4 people can get the same game paying full price

Most physical copies of a game just install the steam version of the game anyway which makes them obsolete at this point.

That's like saying the new kid who's in charge should take the beating for what the old person was responsible for, especially when the new kid is doing a helluva lot better job than the last one.

Do you really think the CEO is 100% responsible for every decision? Loads of the people who will have helped make the online things n such will still be there (aka the investors) and they need to see online passes are bad and deserve to have them shut down like this as punishment.

Better than them losing nothing.

i hate steam. i don't want to load all this extra stuff to play a god-damn game. i refuse to buy games that require "steamworks" or whatever the stuffty using steam as DRM thing is called.

PC Master race, consoles are outdated and they are keeping us pc gamers in the dark ages.
