Author Topic: Re: "I am quitting"  (Read 26674 times)

Let's all imagine a world where badspot/ephi believe everything people say on these boards.
Rules can be broken accidentally ( what happened here )
And ruled can be broken willfully/ignorantly too.

On this forum, breaking rule(s) gets you banned.

you've been here long enough to know what rule 5 is

rule 5 is rule 5.  no exceptions.
rule 5 is rule 5.  no exceptions.
forget OP for trying to catch a mistake, right?

  • There was a post sixteen seconds right before that quitting topic, again unrelated to the quitting thread. Isn't the posting limit 20 seconds?
Nice catch.

Too lazy to read through the topic to see if someone posted this. Did anyone else notice on his profile how it says that Wound aka Juice aka John Constantina is harassing him through messages while hes banned so that he can't do anything about the abuse besides tell people through his profile?

We're still in Off-topic actually....Or was that the joke? :panda:

Trust and reputation are finite resources which are consumed when you willfully violate the posted rules.
It's quite obvious that it wasn't him that posted the topic...  Trust and reputation have no part in this, the 16-second post is pretty much proof enough that it wasn't him.

I'm not getting how the account owner himself wilfully violated rules.

This.
I'm not getting how the account owner himself wilfully violated rules.
And this.

The point of a ban for "I'm leaving" types of topics is to discourage the stupid drama of it, right? But that's not what happened here, and I don't see how what did happen is worthy of a permaban.

blow me/go get banned again/both.  you'd know my stance on this now if you read further.

well im sure there is a rule about account sharing. maybe its not enforced here for forum accounts.
but tis a standard anywhere on the internet.

and even if he didnt intend on breaking a rule, its his responsibility to secure his own account, not badspot's to clean up the mess.

I agree on the second part but I dont think it was account sharing.

Either his friend was on his computer or Arom left his account logged in on his friends phone/computer

He certainly should have secured his account, but as I said, I don't see how accidentally letting your "friend" into it one time is worthy of a permaban (though if he had actually been sharing his account it would be suitable IMO). A warning or temp ban of some sort as a way of saying "hey, be more careful", yes, I could see that as a reasonable reaction - but just banning him forever right off the bat? Seems ridiculously harsh.

if anyone but him had access to his account. its account sharing.
it dosnt matter if it was intentional or not.

he wasn't banned for sharing. he was banned for breaking a major forum rule.
he is not immune from that if he takes his chances letting his friend who dosnt know the rules free reign over his account.

the real world dosnt work that way guys. loopholes are for cartoon characters.

I didn't say I had a problem with it, I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed.
