Someone should make a game where you can explore the world of Calvin and Hobbes, like just his house and backyard area.
Watterson does such beautiful illustration of those woods, and I think that if you took some of his drawings of Calvin and Hobbes you could viably make them into running/walking/radioflyering animations, similar to the dance animation that someone put on youtube.

Come to think of it, isn't the main reason most people object to adaptations of C&H because giving them voices would somehow "corrupt" them?  Putting them in a video game could easily bypass this since video games can get away with text-as-speech much more easily than other audiovisual media.  Holy stuff a Calvin & Hobbes video game is a good idea.  It could explore their world and Calvin's imagination in a new way without cheapening them as characters.  Now someone just needs to convince Watterson that it is too.

It doesn't even need to be a huge deal kind of thing, I just want to wander around in his beautiful universe.

Basically Journey but in Calvin and Hobbes
sounds really great

like you can be calvin and some random person can be hobbes and you'd explore the scenery
you'd be able to communicate in bubbles, no voice acting of course, and they'd discuss things in key areas of the woods, such as the two conversing next to a broken sled that has been there for some time or a comic book sprawled across a rock, and i guess even suzie can pop up somewhere. to keep to the way journey works i guess you could have simple body language so then you and the other player would be able to kinda communicate.

you could always return home and there'd be the mother and father, i guess that'd be cooldown time but the main point is to venture the woods so it could be considered where you can start and stop the game whenever you'd like
and maybe the game can end when you find this one door deep within the woods or something
you walk through it and the game ends
and you can go through it again and then show other people where in the woods certain conversations pop up

OH AND YOU KNOW WHAT'D BE AWESOME
IF YOU PLAYED AS CALVIN AND THE OTHER PERSON WAS HOBBES, BUT TO THEM THEY'RE CALVIN AND YOU ARE HOBBES
wo

Ooo, are we gonna have something like those cheesy death messages in Quake and other early DM games?

Anyone here participating in the candy game jam? I'm thinking of setting S5 aside for a bit because the entire premise is hilarious and perfect.

I don't normally play those types of games, but yes, cheesy death messages are a must.

Worked the first time around, no reason why it wouldn't work a 6th time.

I was contemplating on doing so, but didn't really have a good idea to work off of.

Characters for my detective-y game
I know its bad, its just a ref pic that I made to help with the sprites.

Is "Player" the actual human player, or is that their name?

Also, released an alpha for falling box. You can get it here: https://github.com/Kingdaro/falling-box/releases

The actual player. You create a name for them.

Welcome to the land of bugs
