What kind of music? I can do 8 bit, or like rock music or something.

oops double posted
I'd need rock music probably but don't start on it. It's not sure if this project will ever even be started really.

development postponed; gonna try and learn this for a long time

ok cool, if you ever decide to start on it i'd be glad to help :)

I was loving around with my lighting in my game engine and this happened
pretty c:

Dante, have you tried increasing the foot's mass?

Dante, have you tried increasing the foot's mass?
he fixed it

im starting my first game where you are a giant pyramid and you go around destroying buildings in egypt

itll be called "the revenge of tut" and im going to try and get it on greenlight as soon as it's finished. anyone wanting to make music or art can contact me at this account.
I'm starting MY first game where you play as the twin towers and you have to dodge airplanes

That sounds incredibly offensive to Americans.

everything on the internet is inherently offensive

on a less useless comment-y note I'm going to be starting my first actual project soon, it's going to be a unity-based 2D beat-em-up with a highly technical fighting system and heavy stylization

my friend is probably going to help me with it at one point, but the only language he knows is java, and from what I've seen java is absolutely loving horrid for games

will choosing java when I download the engine severely cripple it's performance? should we just learn C# instead?

It's the JVM that's not good for games. The language itself is fine though.

hey guys. you do cool work. two questions

1. I want to learn C++ to use the Polycode engine. This would mostly mean learning the syntax. How should I go about learning this? Most of the good C++ books are $30-$50 and they seem to go in depth about the standard library. I'm not sure how much relevance the std library would have to game development but maybe it'd be good to learn anyway? What do you think?

2. How to get good at pixel art/aesthetics?

The second requires that you are already decent at drawing
