Is killing on suspicion bannable or no. People keep on thinking it's not bannable.
I've seen admins post, as well as them tell me in game, that it's the whole point of the game. You're the only one who's disagreed with me. With so many one hit kill/unconc weapons, you can't sit around and ask questions or you're going to get typekilled by the mafia. While the karma system is unbalanced (rewarding mafia too much for killing innocents), I've yet to fall below 40 no matter how often I'm mafia. I also believe that killing off innocents that cause more harm than good is also okay.
As for the whole body bag thing. Not only could you question them without the body bag (take all their weapons), sitting around waiting to ask questions is just going to get you killed by the mafia's buddy/ies, and then he/they save their buddy. If you think someone's mafia, kill them and move on.
There's only one purpose I see for the body bags, and that's so you don't have to waste 12 revolver rounds finishing off an innocent as a mafia. So innocents are definitely suspects for using them.
Here's some extra food for thought.
I'm wondering, how are you supposed to tell who's innocent and who's not without being an admin? I've only played a few rounds of this game at Bushi's or Port's server, and innocents killing other innocents didn't get punished by the admins as it was part of the game-play; it's part of the pure paranoia of not knowing whether you can trust the other guy, or whether the other guy trusts you enough. I'm aware of the notes that tell you who's innocent, but not everybody has access to those notes, so it's not exactly a valid excuse.
A very old Murder Mystery game-mode used to punish innocents killing innocents by actually killing the killer. The problem was it quickly decimated the number of people playing and all the rounds turned out to be the same after a while. This game seems to be more in favour of leaving everything up to the player's judgement, which is much better than what it used to be.
I think the big problem here is admins are expecting players to be omniscient which is unrealistic, as it would defeat the purpose of the game which is figuring out who's in the mafia and dealing with them.
Nah.
SMM is a wonderful gamemode completely ruined by those who do not actually understand it and thus try to run it in the same way they would a jail rpg. You see, the thing about a Murder Mystery (and with the collective IQ of these people you really can't blame them for missing this) is that it is a loving MYSTERY. Nobody knows who the actual killer is. Trying to enforce any sort of RDM rule here is on par with the actions of handicapped children (oh wait) as even if something that could be legitimately considered as RDM were to happen, everyone else would tend to deal with the problem player as if they were the killer. Circumstance is the point of the game and if you're in the wrong place with the wrong people, you're gonna loving die.
SMM does not in fact need any administration at all apart from the occasional removal of handicaps who spam the chat. Even if some guy's decided his best bet for survival is to go around shooting everyone, it's going to add something. You cannot expect people to get things exactly right in a gamemode that deliberately gives them nothing to go on. I honestly don't know how you people find this so hard to grasp. Between you, you've ruined a good gamemode.
TL;DR - RDM does not exist is Super Murder Mystery. If you find this disturbing, do not host the gamemode. Your server will be a cage full of only the mildest of souls, all too afraid to make a guess or take a chance lest they get banned.
