No :( it was just introduced to my high school this year as an elective. It's just an extra credit for high school... But it would look good to a school of law lol.
I took it because I have an interest in law, but after taking the class I ruled out law completely ASIDE from police officer. I wouldn't mind that. Just the pay tends to be stuff...

Guns are legal:
Guy plotting murder buys gun.
Guy plotting murder kills person.

Guns are illegal:
Guy plotting murder buys gun.
Guy plotting murder kills person.

Not sure what the difference is here. Drugs are illegal and people still do them. Killing people is illegal and people still do that too. What's going to stop them from buying guns?

Guns are legal:

Guns are illegal:
The general idea of banning guns is that it would eventually lead to only government officials having guns (military, police, etc)
The difference you're missing between the two, is that guns are legal, MAYBE someone has a gun and takes out the shooter. And as rare as you think it may be, it's not, it's just no major news station wants to report that because it doesn't get them as many viewers as "12 shot in school, shooter on the loose! Police say he has a laser cannon!"

Ban all the guns, and then you have to wait for police
and then you get school shootings
not to mention they have to follow a protocol, they have to worry about every student or movie-goer or whatever, and then it takes even longer. It has to go through chain of command, and it's just a huge hassle to get 30 highly armed SWAT members into ONE area to take out ONE shooter.

So why not just concealed carry, if stuff goes down, at least TRY to defend yourself. A gun isn't a gold medal, it doesn't make you 100% safe. It's more logical than trying to run away. You know what happens when you run away?

Payday 2 bank heists happens.
civilians just LITTERING the streets and nobody calls the cops.
I mean honestly you'd think someone in their car would call 911

my brother has a crown victoria so legally I am a police officer.

Sir do you realize how slow~ you were going

When comes to bank robberies, School Shootings, movie theater shooting, office hostage crCIA, or whatever. Police protocol is for the patrol officers to show up and surround the area so that no one escapes. Then wait for SWAT, which usually takes forever because those guys are decide which gear to take. If the department doesn't have a SWAT team, then they will call up the sheriffs department for a SWAT team.

If you are a hostage or in the area of the killer you want the cavalry right of way, but they can't come in because they don't know where the shooters are, how many of them, did they set up traps/explosives, are there more guys outside, are they camped out by the exits, ect. Same thing with the police, they don't know much either. They don't want to run in there and get picked off, they want to reduce losses and either capture or take out the threats.

Also if people are panicking, they are all going to crowd by the doors where even more people will get hurt, shot, trampled, or just get trapped because everyone is fighting to get out. But if have a concealed handgun, you can probably try and find a way out and just shoot any badguys in the way. Its better than waiting 30-40 minutes for SWAT. With the police outside, the hostile gun men turn into cornered predators.

Another thing if you don't like people carrying handguns, under the patriot act off duty police officer can carry their handguns with them onto an airplane, a bus, train, in public, at the bank, ect.

under the patriot act off duty police officer can carry their handguns with them onto an airplane
that's the only thing that I don't think is true
that's an air marshal that's allowed to have a handgun on a plane, I've NEVER heard of a police officer being allowed to carry anything on them onto a plane in terms of a firearm

Sir do you realize how slow~ you were going
Please don't punish me officer
I know the stuff your into and its weird
that's bullstuff, when nobody is in my car it's forgetin' need for speed, if the speed limit is 50mph I'd go 70mph. Never gotten a ticket, one of these days I'm gonna die. On the other hand, I never go 5mph faster than anyone else, but still not really acceptable.
