Gravity generators on both sides of the rail, or thrusters.
I had one until the meteorites ;_;.

Working on modular plaiting on asteroid bases 1 3 and 4 so I don't need to come back only to find its been pelted by pebbles.

Mine is just pointing forward/back and theres no gravity generator to stabilize the thing.

It looks like you CAN shoot down meteorites. I'm hoping the turrets are enabled soon and can be configured to engage incoming rocks.

I've found a cool system that deflects meteorites! I'll show you when you come to my server

How does it work??
Magic. Or physics. Whichever applies.

What if you used gravity generators too deflect meteors?

doesnt works

Alright guys, here's my solution to avoiding asteroids.
I know some people play with them disabled, but in my opinion the 'normal' setting for asteroids makes the game more challenging and fun. I took this concept from the Star Wars planet of Mustafar. Create these shapes using heavy armour which will save your station from thread of asteroids.

Place the verticales one brick from each other, when an asteroid hits them, it will either shatter the 'roid or bounce it (depending on the velocity and size of the asteroid)
If the bricks are placed together, the asteroid make break off the shield and send the heavy piece of space junk towards your station and will truely forget your stuff up.
I will provide an in game screenshot when I can be bothered, but for now here is some concept art of the object I am talking about.
I know the prime use of these in the film are nothing to do with asteroids, but they look bad ass and do a good job.

Another tip; you do not need to place these all around your station, asteroids usually only come from one direction (in this current version of Space Engineers.

i thought that was an ingame screenshot for a second and i flipped my stuff

i still want this game

Me and my friend are playing in survival and I just finished my ship, so then he went to give me a "kiss" with his ship and just destroyed my entire ship with his thrusters :(

Something that would be great would be binding rotor functions to keys or something of the sort.

okay so i got this game recently and learned how to make ships n all

the main problem im having is that multiplayer is really laggy for me while trying to build a small ship that can pierce larger ships then explode (I only do this on servers that allow fighting tho) but everybody else seems to be fine. It's not too big of a problem, just saying.

Anyone has a copy for any chance?
I will give you 3 TF2 keys for it.

Possible solution to asteroids? it would make a cool space station shield.
