 Update 01.029
We now can finally make groups in the control panel for all the 200 lights aboard your ship/station (and other stuff). There are other fixes and additions too, but the full details can be found in the link.

Although I personally never got into any serious mechanics in the game, this is an amazing update.

And will be even better when they add the keybinding, so you wont even have to open the control panel most of the time.

Hey I just got this game, someone wanna start a server and teach me how to play this shet?

Im still a noob with this game, but:

Can someone explain to me how you mine for ore? I see theres ore pieces everywhere but how do I get them into the storage area of my mining car?

Your drill has an access door in its side

thats where it stores the mined minerals

Can it only hold like three pieces? Theres a ton on the floor :(

make sure you have a cargo bay

you could try using collectors, but they would probably break
I've never used wheels before because ships don't seem to be affected by gravity, do they actually work?

You have to attach artificial mass blocks.

Your hand drill doesn't pick anything up automatically, only small ship drills do.

If you're mining by hand, hold T to pick up any materials as soon as they appear.

But to pick up the pieces off the ground, just look at them and press T. However, if you're mining for a large amount of materials, invest in a small ship drill. As mentioned before, small ship drills will automatically store any rocks / ore that you mine with them.

But there will still be some peices of rock/ore that fly out and don't get stored by the drill, but the drill still gets a ton regardless. You can always get out and pick up the excess by hand, or build some sort of "collector" ship off to the side with a gravity generator and a collector block to pick up those.

If you put storage crates next to the doors on your drill you can hold more ore
