Apparently there's a leaked picture of Mewtwo and [spoilers]Lucas[/spoilers] on Smash for 3DS going around. (link) It is fake. First, Mewtwo's portrait looks like the same exact cropped image from the 50-fact extravaganza. Next, if you look at the bottom screen, the username on the P1 fighter selection is "Program" while the username on the bottom bar is "Nathan". Unless it's possible to use custom names in Smash for 3DS. There were two more images along with the first one. Let's look at one of them, shall we? (link) Look at Mewtwo! one thing that bugs me a lot is how much the roster is like melee, in terms of clones

ganondorf can pass since he's been around since melee and his regular moves aren't the same

but like, dark pit? dr. mario? lucina??

i don't get why they had to put those characters in when there's more out there that could have been used, like putting in a space pirate from metroid instead of dr. mario which is literally mario with electricity and drugs

You seem to have this misconception that Dr. Mario's slot could have gone to a character more deserving. The thing is, it doesn't seem that they hit a hardware limitation to how many characters could be in the game. Clones take such minimal effort to develop, since they're so derivative of other characters. So in reality it's more like Dr. Mario/Lucina/Dark Pit took up very little development time, and the team probably wouldn't have had time to make a fully original character in the time it took to develop 3 clones.

Dr. Mario is much heavier than Mario. And his down-B isn't fludd. It's his down-B from melee. And his up-B only hits once really hard.

He's not the same. They have two different play styles. By your logic, Luigi is the exact same as Mario but with green fire.
