given that black was originally actually meaning that you were from the african continent, but anymore globalization means there are black people in the whitest places on earth:  antarctica, and arkansas. so as an ethnicity you'd have to actually be from the african continent as well.

but black is a simplified name of the race, not the ethnicity.
you can tell that someone is black (as in race) but that isn't their ethnicity. Are they Samoan, Zimbabwean, African-American, or Russian?

I guess you could say African-Russian if you wanted to be very specific but saying "black" is a blanket term if we're talking about ethnic groups.
