While hammereditor does have some valid points, the community itself is not the actual problem. It all depends on who you stick nearby, around, or with on this forum. For example, if you do like Hammereditor and stick around the drama section and RTB development and whatnot, you're going to naturally have a much angrier/meaner crowd of people to be conversing with. I think his overexposure to some of those kinds of people has distorted his viewpoint of the community as a whole.
In the games section, i've had some of the best conversations with the nicest users on this forum. Offtopic can sometimes have some really nice moments too, like the "You laugh You lose" thread. And have you seen the Starmade thread in Games?
It all depends on where and how you choose to spend your time here. IMO i've encountered the extremes of both worlds, from great and helpful folks in Gallery and Help to nasty and condescending jerks in Drama and Off-Topic. If hammer did not behave like such a drama-mongler he might still be here.
