The messenger, when he arrives, draws much attention. A strange looking man- Skin described as yellow. Perhaps he's sick? Eyes some say were almost shut, but he could see perfectly fine. A strange man indeed. The guards, when they passively confronted the man, learned of his heritage and his intentions, which led them to escort him to the palace. Soon after, he's met with a centurion of the palace, coincidentally the one whom had led the initial group that discovered the kingdom of the east, Centurion Maxim. The two discuss, and after the passing of words, the offer of a trade-route is offered that will be primarily maintained by Aspidis.
The messenger agrees, and takes out a rolled up package from his pack, unties the string, and reveals a few objects, the first thing to catch the Centurion's eye– a small lump of gold.  Next is a few small sticks bound together by twine.  The messenger takes from his robe a piece of flint and iron, and from his pack a small tin cup.  He places the sticks in the cup and then strikes the flint and iron, lighting the sticks and releasing a soft smoke.  A pleasing aroma fills the room– incense.

The messenger asks what Aspidis has to offer.

Outside of this, the messenger asks to mingle linguists together to help to solve the language barrier.

our farms are plentiful, but 'tis a scarce harvest season - population stagnates

the port, on the other hand, has been expanded, to fit more traders from around the world

a fire takes place in the country's palace - most of it is burned to the ground, though the queen makes it away, along with some of her servants

A dark storm falls over Galaumian lands, and does not leave for many years. It is visible from the lands of Erinaum, but does not affect them. It seems not to move, almost like a curse from the gods.

Heheheh references from Anagaea I, I see...

varansk's maps currently look like this:

what about yours?

tbh it is not realistic for everyone to be trading this far

I dunno.  It's been a couple hundred years and most nations have been trade and exploration oriented - even researching better sailing and stuff.
Phoenicians traded in Britain and beyond with ships less great than ours.

Avalonia puts more emphasis on exploring the Sea of Ormica and nearby lands rather than on places to the North, like past Aspidis or where the coastline heads North to Avalonia's East.

Avalonia sends up moon balloons.

I kinda expect mikoyan to slowly add more and more npc nations until the world actually looks the way it does today

continent-wide supernations always happen in nation rp's and they're so eh

edit: I also fully expect him to remove the rather silly 'can't colonize if surrounded by npc nations' rule eventually, probably around 1000AD or so

varansk has TWO coastlines and it's not allowed to colonize, and you've never seen portugal and such not be able to colonize right

Atenisia sends a diplomat over to Avalonialand and he requests closer ties between his nation and Avalonia on behalf of the council.

since it's apparent that you guys are trading with another nation, varansk asks atenisia to trade maps (if you accept you'll have to tell me where you've explored the most)

Atenisia asks if Avalonia even wants to bother.

also I tried making a stuffty, and heavily distorted (because planiglobe) rendition of the map from the other side of the globe
