Avalonia finds it extremely suspicious that Varansk's claims went from "Found" to "Closer".  Varansk considered shady dishonorable - map trading still desired, but Varansk must understand that it is not in a position to attempt to swindle Avalonia whose ships have reached far and wide and will inevitably find the lands of the East and engage in mutually beneficial trade there.

Avalonia finally learns from the children of the Belanese refugees that the Eastern lands have no coastline and that most of the original refugees have died of old age or are in their second childhood.  The exact location of the Eastern lands has been lost to time and death, although some general information has been gleaned which will aid in the search landmarks and such that the last generation supposedly saw and told their children of (many landmarks seem suspicious, like dragon bones and enormous stone statues, but others seem more realistic, like tall rocks and large coves).

545 AD now.  (Supposing this is read by Saturday)

King Lotavik I lies on his deathbed and makes a decision. Princess Zaria shall be coronated as Queen of Lotavik at once. Preparations are made for a celebration. Armies in Tanorul are sent messengers with orders to push forward for the glory of Zaria and welfare of those being oppressed by Tanorul's radical ways.

Many nobles severely question King Lotavik's decision, as this would be the first woman leader of the lands. And the fact that Zaria has no heir.

New policy for naming land areas:

The requirements are:

  • Your empire must have knowledge of it.
  • You must decide it with everyone else who also has knowledge of it.
  • Name it something good.  "Cephis" is a good name.  "Mountain Land" is not.  You get the idea.

And events will now come every 5 terms. New poll open.

Lol Erinaum has a face.

Also, to those of you who want to define a reasonable amount of major cities, you may do so.  Add the "Major Cities" part below the "Capitol City" in your nation post and tell any of the mapping staff where you want it.  Visual representations help a lot.

Avalonia is pleased with the honorable resolution to this and does the honorable thing in turn, showing the cartographers of Varansk Avalonia's maps (I believe they lack the coastline East of Espul).

Avalonia begins to export jewelry of precious metals, gemstones, pearls, and glass beads on top of its usual exports.

Because of your latitude, much of that could be frozen.

I was thinking, "Oh, Avalonia could have great potential for rice farms.". But that proved to be false.

Erinaum keeps sending over peace offerings, and is after a long time, at peace with Tsekēnaum.

Also because it has not formally happened before, Erinaum offers a peace treaty to Aspidis.  Similarly, we send a peace treaty to Galaumia should Aspidis accept.

Erinaum shows interest in the fertile plains to the north, west, etc.  A healthy trade of rice is coming from there.  Erinaum begins rooting its interests by buying out plantations and farms.  Public officials there are bribed to support pro-Erinamese influence.

Erin XV dies, leaving Erin XVI the throne.

how much land are you allowed to claim when you start?

Depends.  I'd say no more than what Galaumia has is the maximum.

As the military has broken 10,000, Captain Nåvinie is called back to Erinaum for a promotion to be Erinaum's second General.

Military staffing is shifted.

Fire arrows conintue to be unevenly and untimely volleyed at the enemy. Dart throwing men on armored horses go up and down the front lines throwing darts at people who look like officers.

^-  Why we lease out land by the (unofficially named, but I named it first, long ago) Strait of Atensia.  Not great for rice, but good for olives, grapes, citrus, wheat, &c.

Speaking of which, Avalonian landleasers in that region become worried by the Red Ear War and manage to convince their landlords to allow them to build fortifications and hire guards at their own expense.  Avalonia sends some regulars to garrison a fortress being built by Avalonian hands by the area's major port.  The local landlords beef up their own forces in case of an Avalonian uprising or the Red Ear War spilling over into their lands.
