Albiton do we have permission to cuddle with you now bae?
we always wanted to be part of you <333

The head of defense sees the growing uprisings in the state. He calls in the council to decide if it would be a good idea to start keeping a tighter leash on certain problem tribes. The council is very hesitant, wishing to discuss peace with the nomads first before jumping the gun and dropping the hammer. They tell the head of defense to hold their ground and keep their gaurd up. They will upkeep their vigilance and squash any uprisings if they happen.

The council will talk to the leaders of the nomadic tribes and see if they can work out diplomacy.

On a trade mission to Casaiona, several of the male-dominant nobility of Albiton were giving uncomfortable looks and winks to a group of 4 traveling noblemen from Atenisia.  They're willing to...  ahem...   negotiate~

The nomads want more land available, and full citizenship.  Some of them settle down and build cities.  Anything short of this will result in, as they describe it "further molestation of the kingdom."

After some discussion and planning, the council will agree with the nomads, with land to spare (and taxes and trade to reap) it would be a wonderful investment to allow the nomads citizenship and settle cities. Infrastructure will be handled by the goverments workers, but the buildings and housing will be done by the nomads themselves. If you want to build a city, you build it yourself.

The military officers are still weary on the decision, but welcome nomads who are strong and loyal to join the ranks. They only want brothers in arms to support the ranks.

Atenisia requests the adjustment of the military rule in order to properly sustain a militia for border control and bandit raids.

Until they get arrows in the knee, then they won't be an adventurer like you.

The Avalonians see that the enemy is not the total swine they were made out to be.  Give them an honorable death (I'm assuming that you meant that they won't surrender) in a hailstorm of arrows.  Watch for more enemy armies and such while we do it.

There are thousands to bury, it would be impractical.  The Espulians and Ormicans can dispose of their dead as they please; the Avalonians are to catalog the dead, take their gear, and burn the bodies - a burial considered about par with actual burial, maybe above now considering the honorable deaths of these men.

The Ormicans and Espulians can take half of the loot from the battle each.  They are thanked for their services, and give a fair chunk of change on top of the spoils of war - more than enough to make the campaign profitable and worthwhile for them.

Avalonia is drifting... drifting from us...

ooooooooooh, oooh yeah, driftin', driftin'

Aspidis, suddenly and abruptly, begins to heighten trading with Avalonia. Trading ships can be seen coming in daily by the dozens.

More war elephants.

Expanses southward begin with three thousand men, moving to again, conquer through diplomacy, conflict, and whatever tricky tricks Aspidis has up their sleeves.

Even more war elephants.

Aspidis begins promising barbaric tribes the glory of conquest and fortunes unending if they join within their militaries. Five years service, those whom prove themselves will gain citizenship, and those who prove themselves continuously without failure will have the potential for a nobility inspection.

Atenisia, seeing this as a great as hell monetary opportunity, begins to tax Aspidis ships trying to pass through Atenisian-controlled waters.

Formal trade with Espovon is requested.

They agree and go on their way.

Albiton denies this and instead says that Albitonic forces will be responsible for the protection of Atenisia.  They offer that, if Atenisia feels threatened, more barracks shall be built to hold more Albitonic troops in Atenisia.  Albiton does however allow a charter for a small domestic protection force that acts much like a modern day police force, though more numerous in number, operating independently in each city.

Small armies less than 100 approach, and are quickly swept out by cavalry.

The few remaining of the main army are killed off, or a few desert.

In the middle of the night, after the pyres go out, and the manly mourning songs are sung, and most of the remaining camp is asleep, sentries are stationed atop a nearby hill, with a large torch filled with oil.  More sentries are stationed throughout the camp.  It is a windy and semi-cloudy night, with a slim crescent moon sometimes appearing.  An hour before daybreak, a sentry in the tower catches a glimpse of metal glints between two shadows left from the clouds.  He lights the lamp, and soon, several lights begin appearing in the allied camp.

Albiton tells you they want this land and tell Aspidis to stay away.  Albitonic troops amass at the western frontier and in lesser numbers to the north.

didn't you send a trade fleet to me?

I'm still waiting on you to dock in a port or something

Oh yeah also Erinaum sent emissaries to Caprica and Lotavik and got no answers.

Erinaum sends a diplomat to Galaumia and speaks in their native tongue (thought from Aspian tradesmen) that since we are both friends with Aspidis, we should be friends, too.  :)

Erinaum launches exploration fleets from Xianxan.

The military begins focusing on rebuilding and better fortifying encampments and barracks.

Intellectuals begin researching something new for once.

The mayor of Argent passes away. The local citizens mourn his death. His advisors begin looking for a replacement.

Aspidis pushes slightly more southwards before holding their ground, troops amassing to the Albitonic Borders. Aspidis states it's intentions to no longer move inland southwards, and to allow Albiton to take what they want. The elephant war force and a large majority of their military however, begin moving towards the southern border.

Spice road is done n' stuff cbf.
