Seriously, just because there is no legally binding document of peace, means we are at peace? I'm confused.
They're nomads and warrior clans. Did you expect advanced diplomacy?
In Erinaum:
The demagogue takes pleasure in hearing "the legs are equal" and seeks to further this cause. The other leader is pleased to hear that the possibility of sovereignty has not been ruled out altogether, but remains impassive. The two men turn to each other and the stoic leader nods; the demagogue speaks:
"It seems that our grievances are willing to be redressed by His Majesty. If our people are equals, my camp is pleased."
"And if my people shall have greater power in their own lands, my camp is pleased as well."
The emissary from Tsekenaum nods his assent.
The Ivēxür once again reiterates the offer for sovereignty hinges upon a type of union, in peace, trade, etc.
The Ivēxür being very learnèd, speaks of governments in a far land that operate by representation of those elected to represent a populus by the people, and of the people. The Ivēxür wishes for sovereignty, but also wishes for a body of representatives to make laws that are effective in all states. This body consists of 10 representatives from each State, the State's Sovereign, the sect's head representative, and a representative each from Xianxan, Zesisoter and other territories. The laws by this body act to serve the whole. 75% or more of the body must agree to make a proposition a law.
The "Empire of Erinaum" as it exists is to be renamed The "Confederate States of Ezbátu", should the foundation of this body be approved.
When I said that gifting stuff had been moderately successful, I meant that during the last thousand years, the three or four times that happened tensions were reduced, not that Avalonia had done it recently and suddenly everyone loves Avalonia and wants to be friends. I'm not sure I made that obvious. Also can you be a bit more clear on "happy-go-lucky" so that I can avoid such action in future?
You went on about annexing West Plexia and South Calzone as if it was an easy task. Those places went into a collapse that should have required more work than "Stuff happens and it is effective." Not so much about of gaining control, but being able to hold on so well with multiple long-distance colonies at this time period.
I think that after using them for the war with the Britonic States, and not giving them the land they wanted from the Britonic States, cutting off trade and shunning them, they would see the gift as something to just win them over so Avalonia can use them for its dirty work, and for the sole reason if not few reasons for manipulating them.
