Er.  Seems a bit too out of proportion to me...  Like just being launched would mess your body up because of acceleration.

It would no doubt take quite a bit of skill to master but with adjustments including more ensuring connection between the cloth body and the person as well as a pullrope to feed up through the center of the clothbody and thus retract flaps allowing very simple yet efficient stabilization so the person doesnt just go flying forever. My research was more into modern day gliders and parachute techniques but given the materials available at the time, using bamboo for the frame would allow for a similar lightweight contraption.
(Note i am not claiming aerodynamic design because the actual solid wing design took a while to work out for physists but balloons and the like have existed for a long time without such knowledge)
(and note hot air baloons are not even feasible at this time since there exists no efficient enough fuel source that is lightweight enough to transport, I decided to work around this by supplying a one-time lift point of hot air similar to some science exipraments i could show from online videos somewhere but i have no stable enough internet to do so. but to more directly address what I believe is your question, yes it would hurt to be the person to have to do this, probably alot of people would have died before they got the kinks out of the system. Good thing my guy has a cult and people are litterally throwing themselves off boats for him

besides, a cloth attatched to a platform with a person would 88% fail

they would die or get injured

what would make more sense is this absolutely failing and you continuing to pursue it imo, but that isn't my decision, so im butting out

but i like the picture

Not a platform, that would be stupid, a light bamboo frame suspended by rope to a cloth with balanced tethers, the person dangles mary-poppins style off the frame on the bottom.

Kites have been around for a long time
*eep my research shows I am about 50 years early for man-attached kites how careless of me*
Given my people's dedication to research however I beleive a fifty year advantage over one subject whilst the rest of you weridos are running around with crossbows shouldn't be to unbeleievable

Swat it isn't your place to tell anyone what is and isn't realistic. Please PM or email the mods.

This has been out of control the past few pages.

continue.

Disguised Rustuffe ambassadors sneak past the Orshkal blockade into Molenia and request meeting with the ruling body to discuss the potential alliance that would allow a more official freedom for Molenia unabated by the Orshkal pirates.

Orshkal keeps that place pretty tightly locked up.  The Molenian rulership is not confident that Ru'sh Naal will be able to do anything for it, but is willing to connect itself to Ru'sh Naal.  Unfortunately, while the ambassador is onshore, a naval patrol from Orshkal sees the ship moored and sets fire to it (remember, they're trying to isolate Molenia totally), marooning the Rustuffes.  Patrols increase for a while and eventually resume a level of awareness slightly higher than what they were.

Ilystric is demanded to cease the unholy blockade of peaceful and blessed merchants.

Ilystric's response indicates that it would be happy to do so if Atensia is happy to restore the lands that prompted it to take such action to its friends (not a lot, the lands in question are at the very Western frontier).  Ilystric sends an ambassador to West Albiton.

uhm well where else are we going to expand....

we can give them like

representation in the council

and semi-independence status

uhm well where else are we going to expand....
uhm to the west???

uhm that's where they don't want us to expand????

Ilystric decides to settle for that and allow Atensian traders through its lands, although many of these traders complain that taxes have increased slightly.

The war between Romicia and Ajakstan continues to rage on; Romicia pushes ever closer to Ajakstan's capitol by way of the main roads, and Ajakstan sends a large army to the front to repel this force, breaking the line and pushing all the way down to a major city and crossroads.  Once again, it's anyone's game.

With its military and bureaucracy in a slightly improved state from what they were just a few years ago, Edbania's military takes the lands between itself, Zesisoter, and Ajakstan - lands formerly ruled by an even more backward and corrupt government that floundered almost immediately when attacked.  It is rumored that it has made a secret pact with Romicia to aid in the war in exchange for military training beforehand.

Avalonia offers Ajakstan a handsome sum for it's stake in Zesisoter, hoping to take advantage of the ongoing instability in the region, including not just funds, but also weapons and horses in the offer.  If someone else could moderate the result that'd be awesome.

Atenisia states that aiding Ajakstan is an attack on Caprica and Romania, trade partners

Don't..

Apparently not very close partners if you can't get Romicia's name right.

Atensia wouldn't know about the offer, as it was made in private to Ajakstan's representatives in Zesisoter, nor should it concern itself over it.
