[Below] Testing out the pather tool. It'll be used to create the path that you'll go on when you roll the die. There will be statics shapes that will be a visual representation of the path. They'll only appear when you're in edit mode.

Wow that's nice

What about Blockhead Party?

Wow that's nice

Oh yeah, I wanted to ask: Is that port's pathmod?

I'm on board with this.

Woo!

My name stuck!
I never won anything like that before.

Oh, looks like I didn't read the full post before I tried suggesting a name. I would've been down with Blockhead Bash!

So aside from the past 3 out of 4 pages in this thread being dedicated to the name of the gamemode...what about some discussion on how it will actually function? What about maps?

Considering Mario Party 2 was the best mario party of all time I think you should get some map inspiration from them, see how creative they were with their maps, and use the same concepts (not the same exact maps) for this. Here's an idea, a floating islands map where you have the main island and you use cannons (maybe you have to pay or just a 50/50 chance to choose the correct cannon, one will send you back to start?) to launch yourself to maybe 3 other islands that have their own gimmick such as Boo.

Also, how much of this game will be spent for a player in first person? Third person? Some kind of spectator mode like the real game observes the player from a fixed camera angle? Will the minigames be in first person? I was thinking of a speedkart race to be a minigame (obviously a much smaller track for a more chaotic nature.)

I agree that we should use tracks similar to Mario Party 2, but Mario Party 3 and Mario Party 7 were pretty great as well. For the tracks, it should probably be from a spectator point of view, similar to the camera events.

Minigames should probably have a toggleable POV, like default, except when the minigame is broken with that (spy backstabbing, for example).

I'm planning on having the map optionally rotate to a different map after each game. I was only planning on having a 2-3 maps that come with the gamemode. Players will also be able to build and insert their own custom made maps. More events will be included to help them add cool features to their maps.

I was planning on having everyone in observer mode on the appropriate player while people are taking their turns on the game board. Then let them have full control of their player when it switches to a sub game.
