: Thank you.
Cualli pats Elu on the shoulder gently, then hands him one of her bags. "C'mon, let's go find Arkhip," she says, grabbing her other bag. Her free hand quickly checks her pocket for her set of sticky notes she made for Elu. She walks out of the barracks, Elu in tow, and goes to meet up with the pilot.

: Sounds good, I'll leave you a number so you can call one of us.

Walter smiles and nods in agreement "Thanks for dropping by then, gives me something else to think about. I'll talk to you guys later."

Ellie tries to change the subject to something else.

"So, Scorch, what are you going to do when they discharge you from the infirmary?"

Jaakko tucks the shoulder piece away and heads out the door.

"I... actually... haven't really thought about it. I guess I could head home for a little bit, finally relax for a little while. What about yourself?"

"I'm working on a project, I ordered a few custom parts from Kintharia for it, hopefully they're fabricated to the exact specs I gave them."

Markus finds himself interested. He adjusts himself in his cot, feeling a little better now that someone's come to talk to him.
"Oh? What kind of project is it?"

"Just some computer hardware, I doubt it's going to work that well though."

"Why wouldn't it work well?"

"It's all unproven hardware, I've tested a few prototypes by splicing parts into a regular computer, but something put together from all-new parts might not work."

Ellie rubs her hands together for a second and continues speaking.

"Well, I'll tell you about the results when I get back."

"Alright, good luck. Enjoy your leave."

By the end of the next day, everyone has gone their separate ways. Tippy and Crash catch a flight to Kintharia while Eremit, Cualli, and Elu (after the latter two are harassed multiple times by security) take a plane to the East coast and switch over to a helicopter to make the flight to Moratov (with Cualli once again being taken aside for questioning before departure). Cualli's expectations of a "large" helicopter being like a Hip or a Hind are shattered when she looks out the terminal window at the 40 meter long twin-rotor behemoth waiting for them. Eremit explains that since air travel to Moratov is in such low demand, their only airport isn't even capable of receiving passenger jets. Any air travel in and out of the city is handled either with older, propeller-driven passenger planes, or by fitting a handful of people in on a cargo chopper with room to spare. At least the tickets were relatively cheap.

The three arrive in Moratov at 5 PM, but this time of year the sun never bothers to show its face and it looks more like 1. In the morning. The effect a chronic lack of sunlight has on the local environment is quickly made apparent, as Cualli finds herself needing to wear her jacket even inside the relative warmth of the heliport. Exiting the terminal, you are buffeted by strong winds in the negative double-digits, cold enough to make Elu begin twitching and shaking after a few minutes outside. Eremit hails a taxi and gets both Cualli and Elu back to his place on the outskirts of town before anyone freezes to death.

Meanwhile on the other side of the country, Tippy and Crash's airline experience goes a lot smoother. Crash nearly has a heart attack when he spots a Fulcrum in the distance, but before the cabin can get too restless at the sight of a military jet outside the plane the Captain explains that it's just a precautionary measure against any Porlaqi idiocy. Sure enough, once the Athien bay is behind you the fighter escort turns back and you cross the Minervan Ocean all by yourself. Fortunately you are not attacked by magic Porlaqi stealth interceptors, shot down by any Imperial-aligned air forces from the hostile states near Kintharia, or smashed into a building by Deltan terrorists; and set down at Tsunai International alive and well.

and also virvel, kommandant, pansar, and frisk go home too

Jaakko looks around the terminal, taking in the sights.

"Gods!" Cualli exclaims, trying to shake off the cold as she drops her bags in Arkhip's living room and glances around. "I knew it would be cold, but how can you even live with that every day?"

She shivers and turns to check on Elu. "How are you holding up?" she asks, gently rubbing his upper arms as if to warm him up.

Jaakko looks around the terminal, taking in the sights.
You exit the boarding ramp near the center of a T-junction, with boarding areas to your back all the way down to your left and right, and a long corridor directly ahead. Across the way from the terminals are various food vendors, the ostensibly holographic signs above them declaring the name of the store or chain in a language you can't read. Almost everything is sterile and white save for the brightly colored signage, and there are hundreds of other people either disembarking or waiting to board their planes, almost exclusively Kintharians. A flash of light catches your eye and draws your attention upwards to a surveillance drone hovering near the ceiling at the center of the junction, monitoring all the people passing by below.

"Gods!" Cualli exclaims, trying to shake off the cold as she drops her bags in Arkhip's living room and glances around. "I knew it would be cold, but how can you even live with that every day?"
Arkhip calls out from the room where he's getting the heater started.
: During the winter? You either stay at home, seek shelter at a temple, or die in the cold.

She shivers and turns to check on Elu. "How are you holding up?" she asks, gently rubbing his upper arms as if to warm him up.
Elu is still trembling, as Arkhip obviously hasn't left the heat on in his absence.
: Various fluids necessary to my continued operation are in danger of freezing. I must keep moving to prevent them from solidifying entirely.
: It gets warmer in summer. With the sun out it can almost reach 60.

Arkhip returns to the living room after turning the heat on.
: There, give it a few moments and it'll actually be livable in here.
