okay i dunno if this is the same one you guys are seeing since they were all taken down

but [the vault-tec guy seems to know the bombs are coming. does this support the theory that vault-tec dropped the first bomb?]
ugh why does everything look so plastic-y? is that intentional? and why does your reflection not show up on the robot's body when you're standing right in front of it?

i dunno, but the game's graphics look really, really muddy.

i couldn't put my finger on it until now but this. it looks like a pixar movie lmfao.

but i suppose its like more of a contrast between pre war and after war

bETHESDA THE forget U DOIN

forget I still haven't even decided if I should go physical or digital.

it looks like those unreal engine 3 games they made in 2009 where everything looked like it was covered in semen

what the forget bethesda

this character model looks like somebody tried to sculpt james cromwell out of stuff.

this is 2015, the new generation. character models (especially in an aaa game, and especially when it's one of the FIRST CHARACTERS YOU SEE) should actually look decent. I know the compression makes it look pretty bad but it doesn't need to be compressed to look bad.

the last of us came out in 2013, last gen.

w-whats this? actual humans? with emotions? and they actually look good?! :O

yeah fallout 3 had that plastic look on pre-war stuff, too, like tranquility lane
honestly i don't really care about graphics tho

Last of Us didn't have nearly as much to support. I'm glad Baethesda spent more time on content than graphics.

i agree that graphics aren't really important to a game, but in a game where half your time is going to be spent staring at character models and look at how they talk, move, and emote, how your character models look is very, very important. they don't need to be realistic, but they need to be crisp, clear, and actually have emotions.

pretty much every gamebryo/creation game has had this problem too. it's one of the problems i hoped they would fix but evidently not.

at least the models look more human than the last games

also the lipsync looks kinda shoddy too from the leaked videos i have seen

but it may be because they are low quality and the audio seemed to be out of sync a little bit.

Ok, let's do some reminding:

Fallout 3
https://youtu.be/6Ws1jf-BS58?t=5m25s
Terrible loving lip sync, doesn't even look remotely like she's actually talking. Face barely moves, little to no actual animation from the neck down while talking, definitely devoid of any meaningful body language.

Fallout 4
https://youtu.be/kizzTSyvoLQ?t=25s
Much more realistic lip sync. Not perfect in any stretch of the imagination. Looks more like a human being, less like a plastic doll with only movable eyes and mouth. stufftons of loving body language that looks like its going to be entertaining.

You're all comparing an open world RPG with a lot of dialogue and a lot of space to stuff that is linear and mostly contains cinematic cut scenes. Can we tone it down just a bit and perhaps see for ourselves what stuff actually looks like after launch. Might be a bit better seeing legit gameplay footage rather than whats been leaking.

Edit: Even Preston Garvey's face looks fine: https://youtu.be/0lWNdcbq3EU?t=3m11s

he found a plot hole, I've been replaced

In that case 3 is still significantly dumbed down two it's predecessors. For example you could blow up locked doors with bombs instead of hacking terminals or picking locks. In 3 you are forced to hunt for the key, pick the lock, or hack the terminal. Classics also had electronic lock picks if you weren't up to hacking. You could also use the repair skill to break force fields. If do add more options to problem solving, it would improve the modern series greatly.

I am however curious to see what you can tell your followers to do, for example in the old games if you had a follower who had a high repair skill you could tell them to fix something.

I think at this point the series is more of an open world story based exploration shooter rather than a open world rpg. Still too early to judge on every thing however.

i'm just kinda pissed that the guy who gives you the character creation stuff looks like stuff, he's the second person you see in the entire game.

He looks better when he's moving.
