Author Topic: Undertale - The RPG where you don't have to hurt anyone  (Read 317327 times)

after having played through the game 3 times to get all the endings, here's my thoughts:
the game is good but not as good as people say it is
there are honestly better games out there and it's totally worth the $10 it's priced at
but again, there are much better games out there than this one
if you're looking at this game for an rpg to play, consider skipping this game and going for something like chrono trigger or earthbound

more undertale shenanigans.

Hey look, a voice-actor channel I did not cringe at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMilV-r2O6kLQc4PIi4LiMg

The voices are all /really/ good.

The Burgerpants videos have inspired me to accept that Burgerpants now sounds like Justin Roiland.

yeah i wouldnt say it's super good as an RPG
but the whole point is that it's an experience youre meant to play multiple times, so the world is mostly linear and small. its more supposed to be a piece of art than an RPG

I got this game
But i cant play it

the game definitely wins the cake in terms of player interaction with the world though. the world reacts to the way you play more than nearly any other game made barring Fallout 1 or NV. honestly it was just fun doing everything differently and watching how the characters react differently.

sorta like flowey, actually. that's where the meta aspect comes in. the way the game actually interacts with the "player" player is something that is unique among video games in general. when i reloaded my save in order to save toriel, flowey's reaction just blew me the forget away. it may not seem that big but to have a video game actually acknowledge a player's actions on that level is really refreshing when compared to a game where the world is a static set/playground.
