How do we force darkness on people without shaders?

At least darkness should be forced. Demian showed how reshade could brighten any level of darkness.

Maybe there should be a setting in the environment settings or something that would do this.

All interiors are fully visible as long there's a single light source in the building.

The entire enviornment was set to the darkest setting

I turn off shaders when im hardcore building. That stuff is annoying and ruins the view.

do you guys realize even if you were to force shaders there would still be easy ways to re-write the shader script so that there was no darkness?
and we would probably have patches to enable the non shader mode for clients who can't handle it
disabling shaders would just forget a large portion of users and cause disagreements over modding the game so that these people can actually play the game they've been playing

as for a client mod theres no way to ensure that the user doens't mod the client
it's a silly arms race that there is no point in fighting

Well demian said it's possible you could request a screenshot per person every like 5 minutes and if they don't meet darkness standards you can kick them manually.

Client add-on that toggles shaders as to avoid server check.
Server add-on against above add-on.
Client add-on against above add-on, which also does what initial add-on does.
Etc. Etc.

thats so ridiculous and this removes the issue of cheating the shaders and becomes an issue of cheating the client as well as loving all of your actual users by forcing them to download a client mod and use there resources to upload screenshots of your server to you

thats so ridiculous and this removes the issue of cheating the shaders and becomes an issue of cheating the client as well as loving all of your actual users by forcing them to download a client mod and use there resources to upload screenshots of your server to you

Not to mention that uploading screenshots is impossible in the first place.
