Fine, one more response, then bed.
Yes, it is wrong. In both cases, including the atheist. Atheists are not exempt from "no indoctrination." (And FYI, Buddhists don't pray. They don't actually have any deities.)
You're still not telling me why it's wrong though. I'm saying it's right because it is the effort of the parent to give the best advice to their children to set them up for life in the best way they see possible. Also, I know next to nothing about Buddhism, so forgive me.

God bless you all :)
Oh you. :)

I guess there really isn't any way around that. I advocate neutrality in advice - even if you feel and believe something is true, no matter your faith - if it is unsubstantiated, do not preach it. Which is why I'm not trying to convince anyone there is no God, because I don't really know for sure. I just want children starting from a blank slate.

But there's no stopping some parents, I suppose.

God bless you all :)
I would say something similar, but you know... atheism and all...

Well, in the incredibly unlikely case that Norse religion is in fact the one true faith, may Odin allow you into Valhalla.

Good night :)

Hm. Fair enough. If that is your core philosophy then I cannot so easily dislodge it. However, I too will continue to stand by what I said.

Potential new topic for discussion:

My dad says hell isn't mentioned in the Bible.

Is hell/hades/4chan real (as far as beliefs go),

And if so, does it freeze over?

Can confirm this is false.

hell isn't ever mentioned to be a firey hell. Dante's Inferno has the innermost cycle as a frozen forest.

Your Dad hasn't read the Bible.
Yes, the word "Hell" isn't said in the Bible, but the Bible talks about being the endless fire prepared for the Devil and his Angels in the parable of the sheep and goats which is a story about the final judgement of the world.
There's probably more that I can't think of right now.

Dante's Inferno was the worlds earliest recorded self-insert fan fiction and it was mostly just written to make fun of corrupt authorities at the time. Don't take it too seriously.
