Author Topic: [TRIGGER WARNING] how does religion exist in educated first world countries?  (Read 29124 times)

I'm sorry but I would rather think of going to a place where I will see my grandparents, my dogs, pets and my friends rather than thinking about "when you die, there is nothing! NOTHING."
This is the mentality that most religious people have ^
"I want something to be true, so it is. Yay god!"

It barely exists. Thank god.

1 more generation and the voting majority will be athiest.
It will finally start to improve around here. Imagine politicians pandering and picking stances, based on scientific facts, real social problems, and a real future.

Not like now, how they just go around shilling thier token family to win over some idiots, then mentioning god to win over a few others. Then playing that ultra lib game where there are hurt feelings somewhere they can relate to.

1 more generation and the voting majority will be athiest.

Until religion becomes a gender.

Kids are making up genders these days.

Secularists and athiests have been trying to get rid of religeon for centuries now. It's not going to be that simple. The church ix rapidly growing in china, a place where they are actively prohibiting Christians and shutting down churches.

hillkill is insane you guys can ignore him lol

religion and tradition/culture often have strong ties. Preservation of culture often includes preservation of theological beliefs.

That's not really the whole of it.

Not saying I do. Just pointing out how silly it is to believe something to be factual just because you want it to be true lmao

Christian here. Fear and guilt. Most people are raised with it and it becomes a part of their identity. Here's the thing though: religion in educated first world countries is very very different from religion elsewhere. It's actually extremely easy to make religion work with modern science.

Well, thats what Christian Apologetics is for. Prove what can be proven true about the Bible to make easier to believe what cannot.

There isn't evidence of him NOT being real though.

It's not a conspiracy. Theists have been sanely coming to the conclusion that religion is silly.

It doesnt account for why many people, who are athiest born into a secular socety, find that being a part of a religeon as a good and viable option.
People still turn their life to christ pretty often, you know.

Secularists and athiests have been trying to get rid of religeon for centuries now.

Mainly because the idea of settling on a belief rather than trying to prove something with irrefutable evidence is a flawed way to answer the most important questions and most folks want more than "God did it" when they wanna know how something works.

A lot of intellectual and cultural stagnation occurs that way and this has been the case for a long time. It's not a case of wanting to destroy religion out of spite, but rather trying to break the mold that's been set for ages.

is there any cencus data or something to show exactly how many people do change from athiest to christian? that would be pretty interesting to see
