the united states has urged the immediate release of otto warmbier, the detained tourist. his trial was obviously one under duress and without legal protections. his statement "The aim of my task was to harm the motivation and work ethic of the Korean people" is unnatural, implying some kind of north korean-forced recitation. while otto plead guilty to stealing the banner, the sentence handed down was for "subversive US action"
