starting july 1st, the navy is going to allow transgenders in as well as paying for their HRT and SRS in full using tricare. tricare premiums are expected to rise in order to subsidize the expensive procedures.
Self Delete rates among transgenders in america, according the William's Institute, is about 41%. among transgenders who undergo HRT, 45%, and among transgenders who undergo SRS 48%. so not only is the government going to be allowing in a group of people with an extremely high propensity for Self Delete, its going to subsidize treatment that doesnt work.
people will say "oh their Self Delete rate is so high because theyre oppressed by bigots!" and to that i'd like to point out that the Self Delete rate among jews living in national socialist germany during the holocaust was 25%. to assert that americans treat transgenders worse than jews were treated during the holucast completely transcends logic.
so the navy has decided to allow a group of people with an enormously high rate of Self Delete into an extremely high-stress field where Self Delete is already a problem, and waste taxpayer money on treatment that doesnt work and might even make their condition worse. this is an example of something clearly done in the name of political correctness rather than common sense.
other changes include: sailor will no longer be allowed to be undressed in berthing. sailors will not be allowed to sleep in their underwear or even change clothes inside their living spaces. they will have to take their clothes to a bathroom and change there in order to not make transgenders uncomfortable.
