the problem is just that the statue represents the confederacy and exists to praise their efforts. we can remember the bad parts of our history without glorifying them and, in practice, that's what statues like these do. there are no national socialist statues in berlin, but there is a holocaust memorial

The best solution is to replace every confederate statue with General Sherman

we should start burning books. seditious materials encourage too much free thought.

You're white-passing and that's a privilege.

Oh my god shut the forget up
Did you really just say that? White-passing? Really? What the forget is wrong with you guys? Why do you think like this?

you should run for congress

"Privilege". "My livelihood". Ahaaaaaaah. But you see... I'm no mere man. I'm neither white or black, but a mixture of the two save for my other three minor races that have been thrown into my being.

How can a white man have privilege when he who is white is also black, simultaneously!? I'm a testament to both sides, like Yin and Yang i flow in luminous harmony... Unhinged by current events. Sorry for the potato quality. This was years ago.

Look how loving happy I am. I AM THE BOTH. THE MIDDLE. THE GREY. I AM NEITHER FEARED OR ACCEPTED BY SOCIETY. MY VERY BEING IS AN EXAMPLE OF PURE UNINTERRUPTED HARMONY. WHITE SUPREMACISTS DARE NOT ACKNOWLEDGE MY EXISTENCE BECAUSE TO THEM I AM AN ENIGMA. TO THEM THEY SEE A COALESCENCE OF TWO DIVINE BEINGS INTERTWINED INTO ONE PRIMORDIAL FIGURE. I HAVE NO EQUAL. I AM. I EXIST.
is this satire? talk about stuffting on whatever 1/5th part of you is black. it's always funny to see the "I've never experienced racism" argument, but the "ignore it and it'll go away" one is prime lmao

This is the equivalent of Milo using his homoloveuality as a major OWN

Eh, the confederates lost, so I can't say I'm incredibly surprised or concerned about the removal of the monuments. That's just what happens when you lose, the winners get to take infinite stuffs on you and write whatever they want about you in the history books. People who try and see through the partisan bullstuff usually find the truth anyway.

I see it as a sign of immaturity to demolish all memorabilia of the opposing side, but hey, it's not like anybody expected any different from the left. The funny part is that demolishing some ancient statue of Lee isn't going to help the liberal agenda, it'll just polarize people further against it.

What? If you look white / whiter people will treat you better. (That being said looking back he's pretty clearly mixed)

This isn't some mega far left position, all you have to agree with is the fact that black people in general are treated worse, which is socjus 101 stuff.

in the deep south maybe but black people are more often in a disproportionately higher rate of poverty just because of history as opposed to oppression, when it comes to any other area

Also more statistics here
tl;dr black people are 3.7x likely to be arrested for marijuana possession despite marijuana use being roughly equal between black / white people, black people are 35% of drug arrests but 46% of drug convictions, and 51% of black people convicted of felonies are incarcerated compared to 38% of white people

Even if he were blacker than night, they would still find a way to dismiss his viewpoint.  It's all about "listen to black people's/women's/etc. stories and life experience" until a black person or a woman or whoever has a contradicting opinion.  Then all of a sudden they find some bullstuff rationalization as to why they shouldn't listen to them.

It's how these people operate, which is why I don't bother seriously arguing with them anymore.  It's pointless.

Actually, it's just "listen to black peoples/women's/etc. stories and life experience". A significant section of black people/women/etc. are people that experience oppression. Just because some have a "contradicting opinion" does not mean their experiences override the experiences of their peers of color/other women/etc. Socjus activism occurs because a pattern of systemic oppression is evident when you listen to oppressed people's experiences, of COURSE we should not expect black people or whoever else to operate as a hivemind that says "yes we're oppressed".

The existence of Milo Yiannapoulos does not change the fact that you can be fired for being gay in ~28 states. Similarly the existence of some dissent by non-white people doesn't mean structural racism doesn't exist.

-spent a bit posting an argument but i realise it's pretty dumb to argue against this considering i agree with the general principles that this enforces-
