And badspot is only 1 man. I don't know much about Kompressor but I'm sure his involvement is either freelance or favors.

Badspot doesn't have the time to update this game 24/7 so the demands for updates all the time is getting ridiculous.

I don't think people here actually think about the development time that gets put into this.
Badspot actually has a lot of time, it's just he isn't wanting to deal with Blockland at all

Honestly Badspot should make a monthly membership system just so he can be more motivated to make more updates - or hire people that will actually care for the game (or sign it off to someone and Badspot gets a little of the cut)

A monthly membership sounds a bit excessive. It would be cool if Badspot created like a "Blockland Fan Shop" with meme-ish shirts, coffee mugs, etc. Then people could show their support for the game and Baddy would make a bit more side cash. I would totally buy an authentic Blockland T-Shirt/Hoodie if it had a BL meme, funny or clever saying on it

Blockhead Bobble Head for my car would be loving epic, I would totally buy that stuff!

Blockland Builder's Club

Also, no one would actually buy any physical Blockland items, that'd be an more niche audience than the one that would fundraise an update

I would? I would buy a loving Blockland poster if it was official! Why wouldn't they buy any items to show support? They bought the game; You'd be surprised at how many people buy Minecraft and other game memorabilia/collection items

As i said before
that'd be an more niche audience than the one that would fundraise an update

You and even a few others would not equal nearly enough to get Badspot to do anything, and that's assuming Badspot would even go through the trouble of making 'official' Blockland merch in the first place, which goes back to the whole
it's just he isn't wanting to deal with Blockland at all
thing

So we shouldn't be jumping the gun and asking about Blockland sequels or official merchandise, the first, main, and really only hurdle is to have him update the game, and that's all that's necessary

You'd be surprised at how many people buy Minecraft and other game memorabilia/collection items
Minecraft is leagues upon leagues more popular than Blockland because it's way more accessible and easier to just get in and faff about, it's also run by a staff that cares more about than Badspot does Blockland these days

If Badspot made a Blockland 2 that was even better than Blockland while being backwards-compatible with the .bls saves, i'd be willing to pay up to $100 for a key on that.

couldn't that just be an update

While Minecraft may be more popular, Blockland still has it's own fan base of dedicated players. Should we make a poll? I would totally buy a Blockland Poster if it were a decent price, and possibly some sort of "limited edition" thing. It's all about Marketing and Strategy.

However, it takes money to make money; if Badspot has the extra cash, he should totally invest in a few inexpensive game memorabilia/collection items that players might buy. The only thing that could come from this is more advertising (and probably a small to medium return depending on sales)

Official merch is a dumb idea

Official merch is a dumb idea
You're a dumb idea. Official Merch is a damn good idea if you have any common knowledge of how advertising and marketing works. It's called spreading tha word yo

I have actually convinced a few of my buddies to start playing Blockland just by them watching me play and seeing how fun some of the servers can be. You sir, have 0 enthusiasm.

go figure

Yeah if you've got a popular enough brand that you'd get enough sales from it to make it even remotely worth it. Is that blockland? Doubt it.

Are you saying that minecraft and other games just "started out" popular? They had to acquire a fan-base first(a large group of people that play and enjoy the product) which Blockland seems to have

If anything, setting up some inexpensive merch items might actually help BL sales.
It's called advertisement yo

No not at all. I'm saying that I doubt investing time/money in creating merchandise for blockland is worth it given the small player base. Minecraft is a useless comparison because it's infinitely larger than blockland.

You're making two assumptions. 1) You're assuming badspot wants to actively invest money in growing the playerbase any further, and 2) that investing money in merchandise will be more effective than investing money in traditional advertising (doubtful)

Buy a Blockland shirt and you too can be in a exclusive secret club that only a few people know about! Prepare for the once in a lifetime chance when you meet a fellow blocklander on the street!

IMPRESS YOUR FRIENDS!
