It will be 2036 or something like that. The"Meteor" is suppose to come in close contact with earth in 2012, go all the way back to the edge of the solar system, THEN It will hit us on it's second run.

The aliens are spying on us. If you say "no such things as aliens, noob." Then you are maybe wrong. 50/50. That's probably what they WANT you to think. And they are succeeding. Then, Once we've forgotten about them, or something. They make contact. Once they've made contact, They might send a little probe or something. The probe might say something like: "Hello." Then if our reply is blasting them to kingdom come, Then they attack. If they have advanced technology like that, They ARE smart. And if we don't communicate with them, They might send something bigger. That's my explanation. If aliens are THAT smart, Like, If they have that kind of advanced technology, Then i would suggest not to mess with them.

Besides, won't we have nukes with enough power to destroy the meteror by then?

Nukes wont solve the problem. The tiny shards will hit earth.

Our best bet is to deflect the meteor with nearby blasts to delay the impact.

Another one is to create a solar reflector to slowly burn away the asteroid, like a magnifying glass focused on a
orange.

Yeah, I remember hearing something in science a while ago when we were learning about stars and stuff that the suns 6.5 billion years old, so it shouldn't go out for another 4.5 more billion years. So stop worrying, the world won't end within the time we're alive, and stop listening to those really idiotic rumors.
