The problem with servers is they all suck unless it's only your friends. 

And it would be cooler to not have to play online, and be able to play with no internet.

So I haven't played this in a long time, and I was just thinking of this. Minecraft focuses on survival, which is pretty cool. What would be awesome if it was a Zombie Survival - like DayZ. Anyone know of a mod that replaces every mob with zombies, and allows them to spawn in the daylight? Maybe even make villages more frequent, or a city map? I just want to turn Minecraft's survival into a zombie survival.

Yep, sure is crappy, I'm sure that's why PauseUnpause gave them $100 and about half a dozen other Mindcrack people play there too

Just looked it up and read about it on the Minecraft forums. It sounds a lot like DayZ, except in Minecraft. You just have to pay to get early access and play in the beta - it's going to be free though when it's done.

Looks pretty nice.

I think I'm just going to wait until it's free, and hopefully there is a Singleplayer version. Right now I found a mod that does exactly what I'm looking for, I think that will satisfy my hunger for now.

I'm watching a video of it, and I'm surprised about how non-horrid it is. Except for the fact that the world isn't randomly generated, and it only runs on one server... JK this is horrid.

The world isn't randomly generated because they have to manually place player spawns, chest spawns, and lay everything out so it's fair

It's only on one server because it's still in beta you dolt

For what it is and what it's working with it's really good, you just can't admit it's not "horrid" because then you'd be wrong

When I watched this video I thought it was really cool because of all the structures, and then it wasn't randomly generated. Just use the villagey method with custom buildings (plus their inventory and zombie system), ???, randomly generated endless world.

Except every SMP server has a tight cluster of people near the spawn, with houses everywhere and only a few people ever get far away...

Have you seen the map? It looks huge, I doubt many people would ever get a chance to explore it. The developers are always going to be adding towns and other structures.

Same deal with DayZ, the map is like 250 km but I've already been to 9/10ths of the towns.
