It's Spawn Eggs and Superflat World Type. I had a talk with the admins at Minecraft Wiki, and we agreed that "Spawner" both sounded awkward and did not appear anywhere in the game or in tweets from the developers. So we finally moved it to Spawn Eggs.

Not really. Flat maps are easily downloaded and spawn eggs are abused a lot.

The default map type makes it easier for newbies or younger players, and if you're on a server where spawn eggs are abused you can leave it. They are great features.

it's good for a feature to become vanilla so people don't have to download it. plus, it's infinite.

Actually, when bows got enchantments with a fire arrow ability, arrows set on fire via fire/lava actually does do fire damage now.
