Depends on location. They can be as common as gold if you dig in extreme mountains.

Also it seems that you can rename minecart chest uis in the snapshot too, alongside furnaces.

I've started a vanilla survival singleplayer world and I'm learning to find mineraft fun again.
My world has a cool little just below surface cave system that I'm turning into my base and I found a skeleton and a spider dungeon, both within 2 chunks of eachother and both accessed from my cave.
So now I'll have all the string and bones I need for a while.
I plan to add some mods in once I do most of what sp survival has to offer, ie. find a good amount of diamonds, go to the nether and possibly the end. I always wanted to play with BTW so I'm thinking I'll install that first. I might also go with millenaire and a couple other mods before I do that though.
