Makes total sense? The "guns" they had were little more than firecrackers on sticks, not muskets. Honestly, a crossbow is probably the best you can get.
And that whole jukebox argument? Please. That's no justification to bring in guns. The ability to play records is not immersion-breakingly advanced.
