Wow, lol. That'd be pretty great.

And Etho's anvil kill was awesome too

Incoming page stretch.

Alright so I've been playing the game with the Archimedes' Ships and the Balkon's Weapons mods on hardcore difficulty. The prospect of building my own ship (and eventually an airship) was just too much to resist. Also Balkon's weapons mod adds, among other things, a musket that is really LOUD and satisfying as hell to shoot. It also adds a cannon if you want to put one on your boat, so that's cool too.

Alright, so this is is my hardcore world so far:

I found an Enderportal in the center of the world, which is what I based this whole map on. The two red circles are villages I found on this map. Unfortunately, the village at the bottom is all dead and I've been disassembling it for sandstone and whatnot, but that's besides the point. Basically, I've built up to the point where I'm flying around on my airship exploring the world and I'm really rather goalless at the moment. I kinda want to go through the end portal but I'm almost certain I'm going to die to the dragon and lose everything.

Here's me pulling into 'port' at the helm of my airship, with the village in view.

Standing on the bow facing astern:

Inside the foyer of the ship:

Here's the entrance to the real workspace inside the ship, where basically everything gets done:

It features a max level enchanting station . . .

. . . as well as 3 furnaces, an anvil, and a workbench.

Stepping across the threshold into the stateroom:

Here's the room from another angle. It features a jukebox, a stove, a pot, 3 chests with funnels for auto-sorting loot, a bed, a view, books, and cake:

Here's the ship from a bunch of different angles:

Oh but let's not forget about the walled city behind me, after all, that's the whole reason I'm here:

Just gonna use the monorail since walking is for scrubs:

I'll admit to this particular building to be ugly, if functional. It's got some cool stuff about it though, but for now I'm just waiting for the train.

Once it finally arrives, we're off:

Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee:

I'm not lazy, it's a good way to the shore and before my boat could fly I'd have to trek back and forth from the village to the shore to get more supplies:

But soon, we've arrived in the village . . .

. . . and a golem being kind enough to stop the cart in case we forget how to dismount it.

Guess we're in the big city now, but where do we go?

Just gonna take a glance to the right and see if anything's goin on . . .

. . . and maybe trek to the end of the street?

What a nice little religious center, what's goin on in that churchy-building?

Nothin' much, but what about that tower beside it?

Oh good morning, gettin' some air?

Let's have a little look ourselves:

Oh well that was fun, but where to next?

Check it out, the minister for the church has his own little parish with a farm:

Well, let's keep movin along. I swear this golem is profiling me:

Enough of that guy, let's keep exploring:

Looks like the golem is still camping on the monorail up there, that's not disruptive at all:

Don't doubt the town's security, you can see the iron door blocking the only ground entrance and the well is even fenced up to keep people from falling in at night:

Not just any iron doors, impenetrable iron doors . . .

. . . with a moat of lava!

And with that, I think I've gone over the daily maximum for attention-whoring. I'm probably going to ragequit Minecraft forever if I ever die at any point in the game. Hope you guys enjoyed looking at my ugly builds, had a lot of fun building it and trying to defend the infantile villagers every night considering they die instantly to zombies on hardcore. Wish me luck in my future endeavors P:

It looks good, but damn das a lot of pictures.

THE UPDATE IS HERE

I seriously hope I'm not too late.
Not quite here yet, this is just the prerelease.

Friday is essentially the starting line for mod devs to update their stuff, lol.

Right now is when they'd be updating, except not: https://mojang.atlassian.net/browse/MC-36383

Still got really dumb bugs floating around. They suddenly started rushing this update out fast as hell, probably to beat Minecon. But there's a lot of stuff still broken, and I hope they hold off with this.

99 programming bugs on the wall, 99 programming bugs...
Take one down, pass it around, 137 programming bugs on the wall.

That's what happens when you pass bugs around. :panda:

Want to know how hardcore they are rushing this? They added new leaves for the new trees, and they are textured as oak. They didn't even bother updating them even slightly. I suppose resource packs could change that, but the fact vanilla leaves it is... strange. I hope with Pre-release 2, they include replacing those.

> You can see who’s online before joining a server; move your mouse over the player count!

This'll like explode if someone hovers over a Shotbow server or something.

Considering the new employees Dinnerbone and Grumm are big on community and play servers sometimes, I doubt the feature doesn't have failsafes.

I agree that the textures are rushed, but birch leaves are just darker oak leaves. Just saying.

Christ, I didn't even think of a mobile base in an airship for Archimedes. Thanks Stocking, and that village looks rather protected. :)
